BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Kyrgyzstan's crude oil production amounted to 97,800 tons from January through April 2023, Trend reports.
According to statistical data, there was a 4.3 percent year-on-year increase in crude oil production during the reporting period, compared to 93,800 tons from January through April 2022.
In April alone, Kyrgyzstan produced 25,000 tons of crude oil, representing a 9.6 percent growth compared to the same month in 2022, which saw 22,800 tons produced.
Meantime, in the period from January through April, the production volume in the extraction of metallic ores in Kyrgyzstan has increased by 17.5 percent year-on-year, other minerals by 7.6 percent, crude oil, and natural gas by 4.6 percent, and bituminous and brown coal (lignite) by 3.3 percent.
In 2022, Kyrgyzstan's crude oil production reached 295,100 tons, marking a 7 percent increase compared to the 275,700 tons produced in 2021.
The majority of the oil, amounting to 283,300 tons, was produced in the Jalal-Abad region, located in the southwest of the country. The figure increased by 8 percent compared to the 263,300 tons produced in 2021.
In the Batken region, the second largest oil-producing region, crude oil production amounted to 11,800 tons in 2022, slightly declining from the 12,100 tons produced in 2021.
