Chemical production in Kyrgyzstan grows

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 4. The value of chemical products manufactured in Kyrgyzstan from January through August 2023 amounted to 500.539 million soms ($5.6 million), which is 28.72 percent higher than in the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

Data from the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan reveals that the volume of chemical production in Kyrgyzstan increased by 40.4 percent year-on-year from January through August 2023.

The increase in production volumes of chemical products was driven by the growth in the manufacturing of soap, detergents, cleaning, and polishing agents (up by 46.5 percent), as well as paints, varnishes, and other similar products (up by 40.8 percent).

Overall, the volume of products from the manufacturing sector, which includes chemical products, amounted to 222.604 billion soms ($2.5 billion) from January through August 2023, which is a 5 percent year-on-year increase.

The total value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan for the period from January through August 2023 amounted to approximately 289 billion soms ($3.2 billion), with a 0.3-percent year-on-year increase.
