Kyrgyzstan's imports of motorcycles soar

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 5. Kyrgyzstan imported 51,688 motorcycles from January through July 2023, which is 11 times higher than in the same period of 2022 (4,672 motorcycles), Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that the value of the imports amounted to $4.044 million, increasing 4.6 times compared to the same period of 2022 ($876,800).

During the period, China was the primary importing country for motorcycles. The import of motorcycles from China increased by 11 times year-on-year, and the import value grew by 3.5 times.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.153 billion from January through July 2023, which is an increase of 32.3 percent compared to the same months in 2022.

Exports amounted to $1.602 billion, increasing by 45.6 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022. Imports rose by 29.4 percent year-on-year, totaling $6.551 billion.
