BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 20. A business mission comprising 20 representatives from leading Japanese companies and major enterprises will be directed to Kyrgyzstan at the end of November this year, Trend reports.
Masami Iijima, Chairman of the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and Newly Independent States (ROTOBO), made the statement during a meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov in Tokyo.
The visit, according to Masami Iijima, will involve a number of activities, including visits to the Bishkek Special Economic Zone and discussions with representatives from Kyrgyzstan's government institutions. He stressed his goal to use the business mission's visit to progressively create long-term relations with Kyrgyzstan, finding the most promising sectors for expanding business collaboration between the two nations.
The Japanese side is particularly interested in establishing economic contacts with Kyrgyzstan and is willing to expand commercial talks in sectors such as tourism, agriculture, energy, and industry, among others.
He noted that the Japanese government is increasing its interest in Central Asia, as evidenced by the planned high-level events in 2024 within the framework of the "Japan+Central Asia" format.
Founded in 1967, ROTOBO actively promotes the development of business cooperation with CIS countries. Partner countries include Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Mongolia.
