BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 11. Kyrgyzstan saw a slight year-on-year increase in crude oil extraction from January through October 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that the country extracted a total of 251,800 tons of crude oil from January through October 2023, which is a 5.3-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 (239,200 tons).
Specifically, in October 2023, Kyrgyzstan's crude oil production remained steady at 25,700 tons, staying at the level of the same month in the previous year.
The crude oil production in Kyrgyzstan for 2022 exhibited a 7 percent increase compared to 2021, reaching a total of 295,100 tons. The majority of this oil, 283,300 tons, was produced in the Jalal-Abad region in the southwest of the country. The Batken region, the second-largest oil-producing region, contributed 11,800 tons to the total production.
Overall, the value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 377.5 billion soms ($4.2 billion) from January through October 2023, which is a 1.2-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.
