BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 16. Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries reached $330.340 million in January 2024, which is a 0.5-percent increase from the same period in 2022 ($328.853 million), Trend reports.
According to Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee, CIS countries constituted 28.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade volume.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan to CIS countries amounted to $67.900 million, a decline of 26.1 percent compared to January 2023, when it stood at $91.944 million. CIS countries accounted for 37.5 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total export volume.
Kyrgyzstan imported goods worth $262.439 million from CIS countries in January 2024, which is an increase of 10.8 percent from $236.909 million recorded in January 2023. CIS contributed 26.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total import volume.
Among CIS countries, Russia emerged as the largest trading partner with Kyrgyzstan, with trade volume reaching $194.871 million, followed by Kazakhstan with $76.872 million in trade volume.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $1.168 billion in January 2024, which is a 36.8 percent increase compared to January 2023. Exports amounted to $181.3 million, a 46.6 percent increase compared to January 2023. Imports increased by 35.1 percent compared to January 2023, reaching $987.5 million.
