Tajikistan considers Iran as a strategic partner and appreciates the bilateral cooperation of the two countries, Itar-tass quoted Tajik Foreign Ministry's official Davlat Nazriyev as saying.
Nazriyev said that Iran and Tajikistan signed more than 100 documents on cooperation in different areas including economic, political, military, technical, humanitarian and others during the last 20 years.

Iran successfully implements a number of big investment projects here, such as Sangtuda-2 HPP, he stressed. Nazriyev also added that more than 150 Iranian companies operate in Tajikistan, Nazriyev added.

He said that the trade turnover between the two countries significantly increased during the last years and exceeded $180 million during the first nine months of 2011.
Nazriev also expressed Tajikistan's support for Iran in its "peaceful use of atomic energy. "
