The perspectives for cooperation were discussed during the meeting of Tajikistan's deputy minister of economic development and trade Saidrahmon Nazriev with Qatar's delegation led by Ezdan Holding Group's Chairman, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani Al Thani in Dushanbe, Avesta.Tj reported on September 19 citing Tajik ministry.
During the meeting the sides discussed issues of economic cooperation, as well as the holding of the next meeting of intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
Promotion of banks and credit systems activities, particularly Islamic banking, insurance, private sector and attracting investments in economy's priority sectors was also discussed.
Qatari companies directly invest in the Tajik economy, according to Tajikistan's ministry of economic development. In particular, at the expense of Qatari company's direct investment the township with elite residential buildings, offices and hotels is being built in Dushanbe.
The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $55,100 during January-August, 2014, according to the Statistical Agency of Tajikistan
