BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 crisis in Tajikistan, President Emomali Rahmon outlined the major factors for rapid economic growth, Trend reports citing the press service of the President of Tajikistan.

During his speech at the 78th session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Rahmon noted that the growth of consumer demand, foreign investment, the revival of the economic development process and world trade are the main factors contributing to the rapid growth of the economy.

“Today, thanks to timely anti-crisis measures taken by the government of Tajikistan to prevent the impact of integration on the socio-economic development of the country, there is a tendency to revive the economy after the COVID-19. Thus, in 2021, economic growth in the country amounted to 9.2 percent, which is 4.7 percent more than the previous year”, Rahmon said.
