Tajikistan’s imports of petroleum products increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. Tajikistan imported some 783,700 tons of oil products in 2022, which is an increase of 164,900 tons, compared to 2021, the head of the Antimonopoly Agency of Tajikistan, Abdulmajid Muminzoda, told reporters, Trend reports via Tajik media.

The value of imports of oil products to Tajikistan amounted to $681.1 million, with an average price of $870 per ton, in 2022. The average price of imports of oil products exceeded previous year’s figure by $203, or 30.4 percent.

According to the agency, from January through December 2022, some 54 business entities were operating in Tajikistan’s diesel fuel supply market. They imported 387,150 tons of diesel fuel worth $339.14 million with an average price of $876 per ton.

In 2022, some 49 business subjects carried out the import of gasoline to Tajikistan. They imported 319,800 tons of gasoline worth $245.7 million at an average price of $768 per ton, which is an increase of 77,400 tons compared to 2021.

Last year, liquefied gas was imported to Tajikistan by 15 business entities. In total, the country imported 396,700 tons of liquefied gas worth $197.7 million, with an average price of $498 per ton in 2022.

According to the information, 84.1% percent of total share of Tajikistan's liquefied petroleum gas imports falls on Kazakhstan, 8.2 percent - on Uzbekistan, 4.4 percent - on Russia and 0.17 percent - on Turkmenistan.
