DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 4. The section Kyzyl Kala-Bokhtar of the Dushanbe-Bokhtar highway has been put into operation in Tajikistan, Trend reports.
The data from the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan shows that construction work on the project to reconstruct the Kyzyl-Kala-Bokhtar section began in June 2021 and was completed in May 2023.
The project’s consultant is the Japanese company "CTI Engineering International, Co., Ltd.," and the main contractor is the Japanese company "Dai Nippon Construction."
The total grant amount provided by the government of Japan is 3.2 billion Japanese yen (nearly $31 million).
The project involved the participation of 30 foreign specialists and more than 200 local experts, along with modern construction machinery and equipment.
The project road was developed based on the strategic goals of the government of Tajikistan, particularly the aim to improve transportation services, create new jobs during construction, and enhance the standard and quality of living for the population.
The Dushanbe-Bokhtar road is one of the busiest in Tajikistan, with approximately 10,000 vehicles passing through it daily. It is part of the network of highways connecting Central Asian countries with China.
