DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 18. Tajikistan exported electricity worth over $85.1 million from January through August 2023, which is a 3-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

The data from the Statistical Agency under the President of Tajikistan shows that the country's electricity exports reached over $22.2 million in August of the current year. This figure is $3.2 million higher than in July 2023 and $5.5 million higher than in June of the same year.

Daler Juma, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, announced in early September that Tajikistan aims to triple its electricity exports by 2030, targeting an annual goal of 10 billion kilowatt-hours.

This figure is expected to be achieved through the implementation of various energy projects, with a notable one being CASA-1000. This project involves the installation of power transmission lines connecting Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

According to statistics, Tajikistan exported electricity worth more than $106 million in 2022, which is a 10.6 percent increase compared to 2021.
