DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 27. Tajikistan’s imports of chemicals from Belgium amounted to 5.335 million euros from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency indicates that this is 4.9 times more than in the same period of 2022 (1.081 million euros). During the six-month period, chemicals accounted for 55.6 percent of Tajikistan’s imports from Belgium.
Tajikistan’s imports from Belgium amounted to 9.6 million euros from January through June 2023, increasing by 29.7 percent year-on-year. In the structure of Tajikistan's imports, alongside chemicals, there were machinery and equipment at 36.6 percent and transport equipment at 2 percent.
Tajikistan's exports to Belgium reached 17.6 million euros, decreasing by 8.5 percent year-on-year. Tajikistan's exports to Belgium consist only of base metals.
Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Belgium amounted to 27.176 million euros from January through June 2023, which is 16 percent higher than in the same period of 2022 (23.378 million euros).
In 2022, Tajikistan imported chemicals from Belgium for 2.9 million euros, which is 37 percent less than in 2021 when it was 4.6 million euros.
