DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 29. There are currently 600 mineral deposits, metals, and precious gemstone sites that have been explored and prepared for operation in Tajikistan, Trend reports.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon made this announcement in his video address to participants at the International Investment Forum "Dushanbe-2023."

He highlighted that Tajikistan's territory is rich in underground resources, providing a solid foundation for the development of the mining industry. However, currently, only dozens of mines are operational, extracting over 40 types of minerals.

Rahmon also reminded that the next five years have been declared years of industrialization in Tajikistan. The country’s top priority is the implementation of projects in various industrial sectors, including light and food industries, metallurgy, machinery, chemistry, the production of construction materials, and others.

Currently, there are incentives in place to maximize the utilization of industrial capacities and increase the processing of domestic raw materials, including cotton fiber and green aluminum, into final products. Special programs have also been adopted for the development of these industries.

The International Investment Forum is taking place in Dushanbe and has gathered over 800 representatives from governments and business circles from more than 30 countries worldwide, as well as international organizations.

The primary objective of the event is to showcase the favorable investment climate in the country, attract investments, foster collaboration between domestic companies and foreign investors, and promote the growth of digital commerce.
