DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 2. The trade turnover between Tajikistan and Pakistan amounted to $52.7 million in 2023, Trend reports.
According to Tajikistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this
information was provided during a meeting between Tajikistan's
Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin,
and Farrukh Shahzad Rao, Director-General of Pakistan's National
Logistics Corporation (NLC).
The trade turnover increased by 1.6 times as compared to 2022. The
sides reviewed the possibility for further trade, economic, and
investment relations, with a focus on exporting ecologically
friendly fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan to Pakistan.
Both parties expressed a willingness to deepen mutually beneficial
cooperation and put the issues raised into action.
According to Tajikistan's National Statistical Agency, the
country's total international trade turnover in 2023 will exceed
$8.3 billion, a 13.9 percent rise from 2022.
The country traded with 111 countries. Russia remained Tajikistan's
biggest trading partner, with a turnover of more than $2.9 billion,
closely followed by China ($1.5 billion).
