Majlis (parliament) of Turkmenistan of the fifth convocation considered and adopted the draft law 'On the chamber of commerce and industry of Turkmenistan', the message from the country's government said on March 2.

The law sets the legal and economic framework for the activities of chamber of commerce and industry and defines the state support measures.

It is planned to carry out great work to develop the export-oriented manufacturing in the country in the future, according to the message.

The chamber of commerce plays an important role in exporting Turkmen products to the international markets.

With this regard, working out this draft law is related to the need to continue work on the systematic analysis and improvement of legislation regulating the relations in the ownership sphere and aimed at supporting producers and service rendering spheres, according to the message.

The chamber of commerce and industry is the socio-economic organization that brings together enterprises, organizations, entrepreneurs and their associations, regardless of ownership forms. It is designed to express and defend their interests, promote the development of the national economy, trade and economic, scientific and technical relations with other states.

It was established in 1994 to promote the development of Turkmenistan's economy and its integration into the world economic system, formation of modern industrial, financial and trade infrastructure, creation of favorable conditions for entrepreneurship, assisting in establishment of trade and economic, scientific and technical relations with foreign partners.
