Turkmenistan Airlines, the flag carrier of Turkmenistan, eyes to launch flights to Ho Chi Minh, Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah in November 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkmenistan Airlines.
The further development of air transportation is associated with the purchase of ultramodern Boeing 777-200 LR.
"The airlines intend to use the favorable geographical location of Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan for organizing transit flights for tourists traveling to the sites of religious pilgrimage from South-East Asia and back," Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper wrote.
The seaport of Jeddah receives the main group of pilgrims traveling to Mecca and Medina for performing the Hajj.
The routes which will allow tourists from Europe, Turkey, the CIS countries, Thailand and Vietnam to fly to the Arabian Peninsula through Ashgabat airport are being developed.
These flights may be connected with the flights to Ashgabat from Germany, France, UK, Russia and Turkey, which will create additional opportunities for transit travelers.
