Turkmenistan starts producing chemical additives to increase cement production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan increased cement production by 20 percent and reduced the cost of its manufacturing by using basalt additives, Trend reports with reference to “Zolotoy Vek” (Golden age) newspaper.

Basalt additives were developed by researchers at the Institute of chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

Thus, manufacturers began enrich the mixture of clinker and gypsum with crushed porphyritic basalt, which is local raw material extracted at the Ufra deposit in the Balkan region.

In addition, other chemical additives for processing mineral, hydromineral and hydrocarbon raw materials have been developed.

The country's Turkmendemironumleri company of the Ministry of Industry has produced Ferrosilicon-41 silicon-iron alloy from local quartz sand of Mane deposit, hot coke and graphite received from Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.

This alloy can be used as a deoxidizing and processing additive in the production of various types of steel.

In addition, the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan manufactured road bitumen produced from oil with a high content of paraffin. Moreover, the institute specialists have developed a technology for producing road bitumen by distilling tar in an inert gas environment.

Attention to this issue in the country is closely related to the growing requirements for the quality of asphalt concrete pavements on motorways due to increased traffic flow.
