Turkmenistan increases electricity exports

Turkmenistan has increased the volume of electricity export to a number of countries, Trend reports referring to the Turkmenistan Today news agency.

According to the information, energy supplies from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are increasing annually.

It is reported that in accordance with a decree signed in November 2019 between the Turkmenenergo State Electricity Corporation of the Ministry of Energy and the National Electricity Systems of Uzbekistan joint-stock company, a corresponding contract was signed, which expires on December 31, 2021.

Earlier it was reported that prospects for further expansion and strengthening of interstate trade and economic relations, in particular, the possibility of increasing the volume of exports and imports of chemical products produced in both countries, became one of the main topics of discussion at the 16th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific Technical and cultural cooperation.

In this regard, a draft resolution on the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of mineral fertilizers for agriculture and chemical products for production enterprises of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern for 2022–2025 was submitted for consideration to the president of Turkmenistan.
