BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. Turkmenistan and China are interested in deepening ties in the field of energy and the use of clean energy, Trend reports with reference to the ORIENT information portal.
This was stated by Huang Yongzhang, Vice President of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), during his participation in the International Oil and Gas Conference in Ashgabat.
CNPC views natural gas as a key pillar of the future energy system and an important starting point for building a low-carbon economy.
By 2025, China is expected to increase gas demand to 450 billion cubic meters. To date, CNPC has purchased more than 300 billion cubic meters of natural gas in Turkmenistan.
During the forum, the Chinese side noted that big changes are expected in the global energy sector. The share of natural gas consumption continues to grow, and at the same time, clean energy sources are actively developing.
