BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The area of land sown with rice in the Sayat district of the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan has been published, Trend reports citing the Turkmenistan Golden Age online newspaper.

This year, 2,220 hectares have been sown in the district, from which it is planned to harvest 10,300 tons of rice.

Furthermore, 10,200 hectares were sown in the region this year, from which 47,400 tons of rice are planned to be harvested.

At the moment, the rice fields are being cared for according to the norms of agricultural technology.

The agricultural sector in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
