BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 6. The indicators of textile production in Turkmenistan for 2023 have increased, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atayev at a government meeting held on February 3.
According to him, during the reporting period, the volume of products manufactured by enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, including cotton yarn and fabrics, increased by 7.7 and 11.8 percent, respectively.
The production of garments and knitwear in January 2023 increased by 2.2 percent, and leather - by 17.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
The plan for the manufacture of carpet products at the enterprises of the Turkmen Turkmenhaly State Association has been exceeded by 1.5 percent.
Turkmenistan plans to allocate more than $300 million for the implementation of over 30 projects in the textile industry by 2025.
In general, over the years of independence, about $2 billion were invested in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing textile enterprises.
