Turkmenistan discloses total area of farmland intended for cultivation of various crops

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. The total area of farmland intended for the cultivation of various crops in Turkmenistan this year will be over 1.41 million hectares, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Annageldi Yazmyradow at a government meeting held on February 24.

According to him, vegetables and melons will be planted on 106,000 hectares of this volume of acreage.

The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree "On the zoning of crops and production by provinces in 2023" within the framework of a government meeting.

The resolution was signed in order to successfully continue reforms in the country's agriculture, the placement of agricultural crops by their types in accordance with the soil and climatic conditions of regions and districts, as well as further increase agricultural production through scientifically based crop rotation and increase crop yields.

Meanwhile, at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, certain issues of further socio-economic development of the country were discussed, as well as draft documents aimed at the development of sectors of the national economy were considered.
