BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Federal Customs Service of Russia at an online meeting exchanged experience on the development of a system of codes for the classification of goods in accordance with the Commodity Nomenclature of foreign economic activity, Trend reports.
The meeting was held within the framework of the joint action plan for 2022-2024 to further deepen and expand cooperation between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Officials of the Federal Customs Service of Russia provided information on the commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity used by the customs service, the work of the commodity classification system, responsible structures appointed in this area and their activities.
The legal basis of the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity is the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System of the World Customs Organization (WCO).
Turkmenistan joined this Convention in accordance with the law adopted by the parliament of Turkmenistan on March 16 of this year.
Currently, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is carrying out relevant work aimed at improving the classification system of goods in accordance with the commodity terminology of foreign economic activity.
