ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 11. US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan signed a ,memorandum of understanding to strengthen the Turkmen private sector, Trend reports.
According to official data, the memorandum outlines a plan for cooperation between the two sides to increase competitiveness, expand exports of private sector products and services and improve the investment climate.
The memorandum is expected to further strengthen these efforts and help create a more dynamic and competitive private sector in Turkmenistan.
USAID recently completed a two-day seminar on international parliamentary practice for 27 newly elected members of the Parliament of Turkmenistan. The seminar familiarized members of Parliament with the best practices of legislative activity and demonstrated effective processes of parliamentary chambers around the world.
The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, founded in 2008, unites more than 28,000 representatives of the private sector of Turkmenistan. The trade volumes of the Union's members increased by 39.3 times compared to 2008.
