ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 30. Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking in Berlin at the meeting of the heads of delegations of the Central Asian countries of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, offered German business partnership in the field of electric power and renewable energy sources, Trend reports.
"I would also like to suggest that German businesses consider working in the energy sector. Areas of joint efforts can be the construction and modernization of power plants, the development of a network of power lines and other projects," Berdimuhamedov said.
According to him, Turkmenistan also pays great attention to development of such areas as renewable energy sources and international cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy.
"Realizing that 'green' energy is the energy of the future, Turkmenistan is taking a number of practical actions at the state level today aimed at promoting projects in the field of solar and wind energy," the chairman of the People's Council said.
Furthermore, Berdimuhamedov stated the importance of cooperation with foreign companies and international structures in reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere, utilization of associated gas in hydrocarbon fields.
He expressed confidence that the knowledge and best practices possessed by German companies in these areas will be in demand in Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany in the field of renewable energy promise to be promising, given the growing interest of both countries in green energy and sustainable development. Turkmenistan, having a huge potential in the field of solar and wind energy, can provide excellent opportunities for investments and joint projects with German companies that have extensive experience in this field.
