ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 2. At the moment, about 200 facilities with a total cost of more than $10 billion are being built in Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

This was stated by the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking in Berlin at the meeting of the heads of delegations of the Central Asian countries of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.

According to him, the country's GDP grew by 6.2 percent from January through August 2023, while annual investments in the national economy account for 18–19 percent of GDP, and the share of foreign investment in them reaches up to 12 percent.

He noted that Turkmenistan directs more than 60 percent of the total investments to the production sector, which ensures the accelerated development of export-oriented and import-substituting industries.

Among the most important investment projects, Chairman Berdimuhamedov named new plants for the production of urea, ammonia, synthetic gasoline, and polypropylene, which have been built in Turkmenistan in recent years.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's manufacturing sector plays an important role in the country's economy and is actively developing. Currently, Turkmenistan is implementing a significant number of investment projects aimed at strengthening and expanding this sector.
