ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 28. Turkmenistan imported plastic and rubber goods from the EU countries, amounting to a combined value of 12.21 million euros from January through August 2023, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
The statistics for this reporting period indicate a 23.3-percent increase compared to the corresponding eight months of the previous year, when the cost amounted to 9.9 million euros.
Turkmenistan imported plastic and rubber products from the EU countries in August in the amount of 1.92 million euros, which is twice as high as in July 2023 (955,354 euros).
Furthermore, Turkmenistan's imports from the EU for the specified period reached a total of 433.1 million euros, which is 19.6 percent more than in the first eight months of 2022 (362.1 million euros).
In the previous year, the trade volume between Turkmenistan and EU nations reached 1 billion euros, reflecting a 25.9 percent decrease from 2021, when it amounted to 1.35 billion euros.
