ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 11. Turkmenistan's trade turnover with Italy totaled more than 136 million euros from January through August 2023, a source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
During the specified period, the amount of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Italy increased by almost 34.85 percent compared to the first eight months of the previous year (100.85 million euros).
Italy's imports from Turkmenistan from January through August 2023 reached almost 45.71 million euros, an increase of 17.2 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2022, when it amounted to 39.01 million euros.
At the same time, Turkmenistan's imports from Italy for the specified period reached a total of 90.28 million euros, which is 46 percent more than in the first eight months of 2022 (61.84 million euros).
The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Italy for the whole of 2022 amounted to 173.13 million euros, which is a significant decrease of 2.7 times compared to the trade turnover in 2021, which amounted to 471.62 billion euros.
