ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 29. The trade turnover between Türkiye and Turkmenistan from January through March this year amounted to $459.5 million, Trend reports.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reports that the figures for the specified period are 15 percent lower than those from the same period in 2023, which totaled $540.9 million.
Türkiye's imports from Turkmenistan in the first quarter of this year amounted to almost $232.2 million, which is 24 percent less than the same period last year when it amounted to $306 million.
At the same time, Türkiye's exports to Turkmenistan decreased by almost 3.2 percent during the reporting period compared to the corresponding period in 2023 ($234.9 million), amounting to just over $227.3 million.
Meanwhile, for the entirety of 2023, the trade turnover between Türkiye and Turkmenistan reached $2.66 billion, indicating a 29.1 percent growth compared to 2022, when it amounted to $2.06 billion.
