Volume of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia increases

The total volume of money transfers of individuals between Uzbekistan and Russia increased by 30.14 per cent in the third quarter of 2012 compared to the same period last year to $2.7 billion, the Central Bank of Russia said.

In particular, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by 30.66 per cent, up to $1.969 billion and from Uzbekistan to Russia by 21.35 per cent to $108 million.

The average amount of one transaction from Russia to Uzbekistan declined by 0.8 per cent up to $655 in the third quarter and from Uzbekistan to Russia grew by 2.8 per cent to 1893.

Uzbekistan remains the leader among the CIS countries in terms of remittances from Russia among individuals. Tajikistan ranks second at $1.28 billion with the third, Ukraine at $804.

Remittances from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by 49.8 per cent in 2011up to $4.262 billion, to Tajikistan $3.166 billion compared to $2.216 billion a year earlier and Ukraine $2.607 billion ($1.809 billion in 2010), the Central Bank of Russia said.

The Central Bank of Russia said that data covers such systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Coinstar Money Transfer, Contact, InterExpress, Migom, MoneyGram, PrivatMoney, UNIStream, Western Union, AziyaEkspress, Allure, Blitz, Fast Mail, Gold Crown, LEADER and Russian Post.
