The representatives of Uzbekistan are among those to monitor the parliamentary election in the Great Britain.

Uzbekistan's representatives, namely, Akmal Umirzakov and Shukhrat Sirojiddinov are the members of the observation mission for the general parliamentary election in Great Britain, the British embassy in Tashkent said.

MP Umirzakov is a member of the Committee on International Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (parliament) and Sirojiddinov is a member of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Vice-Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan.

The mission with the participation of the representatives of the countries has been organized by the British branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

Uzbekistan's representatives will monitor the voting process in a constituency of Watford, located 27 kilometers from London, on May 7. They will take part in monitoring of all stages of the electoral process, including the opening of polling stations, the voting process, the closing of polls and vote counting.

Uzbekistan's representatives will also meet with the candidates, running for the MPs, the representatives of the civil society, local authorities and the British Electoral Commission.

Uzbekistan's representatives will be able to examine the process of organizing and holding the parliamentary election in Great Britain as part of their mission activity, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Edgar said.
