EU, UNDP to implement project for green economy transition in Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, the Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan, and the United Nations Development Program signed a document on the implementation of a project "Support for an inclusive transition to a green economy in the agricultural and food sector and development a climate-oriented agricultural knowledge and innovation system" in the amount of 4.1 million euros, Trend reports via the press-services of the ministry.

The project is planned to be implemented until September 30, 2025.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Agriculture with the participation of the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, the Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian, and the UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Matilda Dimovska.

The new joint project is designed to contribute to an inclusive transition to a green economy in the food and agricultural sectors of Uzbekistan, as well as to the implementation of a climate optimal Uzbek agricultural knowledge and innovation system.
