Uzbekistan to complete construction of power plants in Tashkent region

Uzbekistan almost completed construction of a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 240 MW and a gas piston power plant with a capacity of 230 MW in country’s Tashkent region, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.

The Turkish Aksa Enerji company acted as an investor in the construction projects of these two power plants with a total capacity of 470 MW.

Currently, construction, installation and starting-up and adjustment works are already underway at the plants, and auxiliary equipment of the installation is being commissioned.

According to the ministry, in the next 7-8 days, one of the power plants will be connected to the main power grid of Uzbekistan and will start supplying electricity.

After the commissioning of one of the power plants it will produce 3.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
