BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Uzbekistan imported industrial products worth $397.2 million in January 2023, a decrease of 1.9 percent, compared to the first month of 2022, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statics Committee.
The main imports of industrial products accounted for cast iron and steel ($162.1 million), metal products ($55.1 million), textile yarn, fabrics, and finished products ($41.9 million), as well as paper and cardboard ($35.1 million).
Overall, imports of industrial products amounted to 13.4 percent of the share of the total import.
The main exporters of industrial products to Uzbekistan were Russia ($139.3 million), China ($105 million), Kazakhstan ($47.9 million), Türkiye ($29.8 million), and South Korea ($14 million).
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan’s imports totaled $2.9 million (an increase of 39.8 percent). The main share in the import structure fell on machinery and transport equipment (45.6 percent), industrial products (13.4 percent), as well as chemical products (12.1 percent).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's trade turnover in January 2023 amounted to $5.04 billion, increasing by 42 percent, compared to the first month of 2022 ($3.5 billion).
