BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 4. Uzbekistan’s car manufacturing significantly decreased in January 2023, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Uzbekistan manufactured 3,287 cars, decreasing by 73.2 percent or 9,010 cars, compared to the figure for January 2022 (12,297 cars).

In January 2023, Uzbek industrial enterprises overall manufactured products worth 33.6 trillion soums ($2.9 billion) - an increase of 2.1 percent, compared to the corresponding period in 2022 (32.9 trillion soums or $2.8 billion).

Besides cars, Uzbekistan produced refrigerators (19,800 units), buses (22 units), automobile engines (4,984 units), trucks (138), lead batteries (88,300 units), as well as 139,600 tons of gasoline, 31,500 tons of cotton yarn, 5.5 million liters of beer, and 116,500 tons of flour from soft wheat and spelled.

Previously, secretary of Uzavtosanoat JSC Zumrad Shadjalilova told Trend that in 2022, Uzbekistan’s UzAuto Motors produced 327,639 Chevrolet Cars, in particular, Chevrolet Cobalt –101,617 cars, Chevrolet Damas – 93,120, Chevrolet Lacetti – 87,105, Chevrolet Nexia – 22,245, Chevrolet Spark – 14,464, as well as Chevrolet Tracker – 9,088.
