BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The total volume of Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetable export has decreased from January through February 2023, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Uzbekistan exported 135,600 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $116.4 million, decreasing by 1.2 times or 28,500 tons.

The largest share in the export fell on mug beans – 17,600 tons, followed by dried grapes – 15,500 tons, cabbage – 15,300 tons, grapes – 11,100 tons, tomato – 7,600 tons, pomegranate – 6,200 tons, prunes – 4,400 tons, chili pepper – 3,600 tons, peanut – 1,400 tons, etc.

Uzbekistan in the reporting period exported fruit and vegetables to Kazakhstan (44,800 tons), Russia (29,200 tons), China (19,500 tons), Kyrgyzstan (11,900 tons), Pakistan (9,200 tons), Afghanistan (4,600 tons), Türkiye (2,000 tons), Azerbaijan (1,500 tons), Belarus (1,400 tons), etc.

During the reporting period, the trade turnover of Uzbekistan amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion). Export from Uzbekistan in the reporting period amounted to about $3.1 billion, while imports to Uzbekistan - were $5.7 billion.

In 2022, Uzbekistan exported 1.7 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $1.1 billion, decreasing by 18.5 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2021.
