TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 12. The joint mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) is going to conduct an assessment of Uzbekistan's tax administration via the Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT), Trend reports.
TADAT is a tool designed to provide an objective assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of key components of the country's tax administration system, taking into account nine performance areas. The results of the assessment show the scale of the required reform and the relative priorities that require attention.
As noted by the country's Ministry of Economy and Finance, this matter was discussed at the meeting between Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Dilshod Sultanov, and representatives of the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF and the ADB, headed by Vincent de Paul Koukpaizan.
During the meeting, the major directions of the joint mission of the IMF and ADB to assess the tax administration of Uzbekistan were discussed.
It was noted that the main objective of the joint mission is the assessment of the country's state of tax administration. This assessment is going to identify strengths and weaknesses in the tax administration system of Uzbekistan and determine a program for its further improvement.
In order to maximize the accuracy of data when assessing the tax administration system, it was also proposed to organize working missions to the regions to study in detail the state of tax administration on the ground.
