TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 29. Uzbekistan and China are discussing the possibilities of expanding bilateral trade, economic, investment, financial and technical cooperation, Trend reports.
These issues were discussed between the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Aziz Kudratov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun.
During the meeting, the parties discussed implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to China in May this year.
They stressed the importance of intensifying cooperation to ensure further growth of indicators, including by expanding the supply of agricultural products.
The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamics of growth in the volume of Chinese investments in the economy of Uzbekistan, which has increased 5 times in recent years and reached $2.2 billion in 2022, and also added that the number of enterprises with Chinese capital has tripled.
At the same time, the diplomats reviewed the current state of implementation of joint projects in the energy sector, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, infrastructure and transport, as well as the possibility of increasing the financial and technical assistance of the Chinese government for the implementation of socially important projects in Uzbekistan and other issues of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, they worked out a format for further cooperation in order to accelerate the practical implementation of the agreements reached and develop new promising initiatives.
