TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 19. The newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to Uzbekistan Ricardo Martinez Vazquez has presented his credentials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel, Trend reports.

"The dynamics of bilateral relations between our nations are clearly showing an upward trajectory. We highlighted the existing big room of opportunities Foreign Ministries can and must jointly bring into life," the minister stated.

He also wished Ambassador Martinez Vazquez a fruitful tenure in fostering new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.

Throughout his extensive diplomatic career, Ricardo Martinez Vazquez has served in Bonn (Germany) and at international organizations in Geneva (Switzerland) as Counselor for Humanitarian Affairs. He served as the second chief of the embassy in Panama and held the position of Consul General in both São Paulo (Brazil) and Edinburgh (Scotland). As a diplomat, he has served in various countries and has worked in Spain within the General Directorate of International Economic Relations, the OID, the Gibraltar Office, and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, where he held the position of Deputy Director General for Asia, the Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe. He has served as Director General of Cooperation with Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe, as well as Director General of Casa África.
