Iran issued visa to mothers of three arrested U.S. citizens, Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchohr Muttaki said May 10, IRNA reports.

According to Muttaki, earlier parents of three arrested U.S. citizens appealed to obtain permission to visit their children. "We have instructed the Iranian representation in New York to issue visas to mothers of the three arrested individuals," Muttaki said.

Joshua Felix Fattal, 27, along with Shane Michael Bauer, 27, and Sarah Emily Shourd, 31 were arrested in the western Iranian district of Marivan, at the Malakh-Khur border point on July 31 while they were hiking near Iran's border with Iraq. The three were traveling on Syrian and Iraqi visas and crossed the Iranian officials illegally.

According to Tehran's Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dovletabadi, the U.S. citizens, arrested at Iran-Iraq border, are charged with espionage.  

At present, investigation is underway and opinion in connection with it will be announced in the near future.
