Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran Saeed Jalili has met Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu second time today after his second round of meeting  with EU High Representative Catherine Ashton shortly in evening.

Diplomatic sources in Istanbul say Jalili and Ashton decided to meet one the sidelines of Iran-P5+1 talks, reported IRNA.

Jalili-Ashton talks, held while the US envoy kept away, are said to be worth pondering.

Delegates will hold talks after Jalili-Ashton negotiations.

Before, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met separately with EU High Representative Catherine Ashton and Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, on the eve of nuclear negotiations set to take place Friday in Istanbul between P5+1 (France, Germany, Russia, United Kingdom, United States, and People's Republic of China) and Iran, Anadolu agency reported.

The previous round of talks on Iran's nuclear program between the "Six" (the permanent members of UN Security Council and Iran after a 14-month break was conducted in December 2010 in Geneva. An agreement was reached to hold the next round of talks on Jan. 21, 2011.

The United States and other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons for military purposes under the guise of a peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran denies the charges, saying that its nuclear program is aimed solely at meeting the country's electricity needs. The U.N. Security Council adopted six resolutions in connection with the suspension of Iran's nuclear program. Four involve the use of economic sanctions on Iran.
