Ahmadinejad hopes upcoming talks bring good results

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad expressed hope next meetings between the country and P5+1 will bring good results, ISNA news agency reported.

"Good agreements will be reached in upcoming meetings provided that the other side (P5+1) is determined and abides by justice and respect and remain committed to law," Ahmadinejad told a crowd of Iranians in northern province of Gilan on Sunday.

"You have only two ways, one is to take the same previous way. You have made attempts to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power. You did your utmost, but you have failed. You are free to choose, but know that taking the same path brings you nothing but what which you have achieved so far", he said.

Ahmadinejad added that the second way is the way of interaction and cooperation.

"I think the two sides have discussed main issues during two or third rounds of talks and they are aware of each other's views. Grounds are ready for good agreements in future meetings if the other side abides by respect and justice," Ahmadinejad continued.

Iran and representatives of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany as well as the EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton met in Istanbul on Friday and Saturday.

The U.S. and other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons under cover of peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran says its nuclear program is peaceful and reiterates that the other countries must respect its "nuclear rights" and that its enrichment activities are not "negotiable."

The UN Security Council has passed three sets of sanctions against Iran so far over its refusal to halt nuclear enrichment activities.

Iran calls sanctions illegal.
