Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has called upon Saudi Arabia to be cautious in the so-called conspiracy against the Saudi ambassador in Washington DC, IRNA agency reported.

"Certainly, the Saudi authorities understand that the recent events were intended to sow discord among the region's countries," Salehi said.

He said Iran itself has faced terror, and will never take a similar step against another country, which could ruin its international relations.

"A scenario drawn up by the U.S. is not based on evidence. It seeks to raise the noise in the media outlets and blacken Iran in the eyes of the world community," Salehi said.

Salehi also said that Iran is ready to take part in the investigation of this issue and make it clear.

"We asked the U.S. to provide us with information about the arrested to determine their identity," he said.

Media reported last Tuesday that the New York Federal Court brought accusations of an attempt to commit terror acts against the embassies of Israel and Saudi Arabia in Washington against two Iranians.
