Iran and the European Union states are trade partners, Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Wednesday, IRNA reported.
In a farewell meeting with the outgoing Spanish ambassador to Iran, Leopoldo Stampa, he referred to the ancient and excellent ties between the two countries and said that co-existence and dialogue are the best way for promoting cooperation.
Stampa, for his part, called for continued political consultations between the two countries' officials and said that Iran and Europe should solve their problems in a tension-free ambience based on mutual respect.
