Iran parliament speaker to visit Ankara
The speaker of the Iranian parliament, Ali Larijani, will arrive in Ankara Wednesday evening for talks with Turkish officials, a spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry said, reported dpa.
Larijani is visiting Ankara at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, Cemil Cicek, the spokesman told dpa.
The Iranian official would also hold separate meetings with President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
The spokesman declined to comment on the subjects of the talks, which are to cover Iran's nuclear programme and on plans by the United States and European Union to increase sanctions against Iran.
