The director for International affairs of The National Iranian Oil Company Mohsen Qamsari told Mehr News Agency that Iran is exporting about 500,000 barrels of crude oil to China, Bloomberg reported.

Earlier, Bloomberg said that "China's imports of crude oil from Iran fell 54 percent in March against the previous year to 1.08 million metric tons, according to data released today by the general administration of Customs. Purchases fell six per cent from February".

Qamsari said in response to a question about the Chinese refiners' confirmation about the reduction in purchasing Iranian oil that they sound like they are making these statement for some political reason.

"Our oil export to China has never declined since the beginning of 2012," he added. Qamsari underlined that all of the yearly oil contracts with Chinese companies have been expanded.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration statistics, Iran exported 543,000 bpd of crude oil to China during the first half of 2011.
