Spokesman for Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said that manufacturing long-range missiles by relying on Iran's scientific and technological capabilities helped upgrade Iran's overall capabilities in the world, IRNA reported.

Referring to the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi in Majlis (Parliament) on Sunday, Seyyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said that the defense minister submitted a report on the latest developments and achievements in the defense field to Majlis on Sunday.

"General Vahidi briefed the lawmakers on the latest situation regarding purchase of Russian-made S-300 missiles. He said that after Russia refrained from delivering the S-300 anti-missile missiles to Iran, the Defense Ministry also called for returning the sum of money that Iran had paid to Russia," he added.

Naqavi Hosseini pointed out that Iran's Defense Ministry started manufacturing long-range missiles afterwards by relying on the country's scientific, technical and technological capabilities which was also successful.

The lawmaker noted that the Defense Ministry further said that General Vahidi reiterated that his ministry managed to thwart the recent cyber attacks by the enemy against Iran's facilities by making use from Iran's technological capacities.
