Sour and sweet gas production at the Shahid Hashemi Nejad (Khangiran) Gas Refinery has grown 12 percent over last year.
From late June to late July the refinery produced 1.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) of sour and sweet gas, compared to its output of 1.7 bcm last summer, the naftnews.net website reports.
In the first four months of this year (Iran's solar year starts on March 20), more than 4.9 bcm of sour and sweet gas was produced at Shahid Hashemi Nejad compared to nearly 4.6 bcm over the same time last year, an increase of nearly 9 percent.
The refinery is working to produce more gas and reduce the time it needs to do major repair work.
The North, and South Khorasan Provinces along with Khorasan, Golestan, Mazandaran and a part of the Province of Semnan rely on Shahid Hashemi Nejad for their gas supply. The provinces are in north-eastern Iran.
