An unknown armed man has taken several hostages in Iraniani Khuzestan province's Shush city, IRNA reported on Dec. 12.

The police said, referring to an escaped bank worker, that the armed man has been holding several hostages (three bank employees and a guard) in a women's toilet, inside the bank.

The man entered the Ansar bank early in the morning, already armed with a gun, and started a quarrel with bank's security guard. The quarrel resulted in the man taking possession of the guard's gun, and he started shooting around.

Earlier reports indicate that the man fired 21 bullets, breaking bank's several window glasses. There were no reports of injured or dead.

The police said the man had personal motives for entering the bank. As of now, the police has the bank surrounded, with all exits blocked.
